I have been making jewelry in some form or other since I was about 10 years old. I developed a love of beads at an early age and tumbled deep down the rabbit hole of beaded jewelry, developing skills that led me to earning local and national art awards in high school for my beadwork.

 In college, I diverged into the world of fiber arts and metalwork, experimenting with ways to combine the two- learning on my own how to weave metal. For my final art show, I worked to combine most of my artistic passions into one body of work, from beadwork through woven silver jewelry. I earned 2 awards for this work from my college. 

Later, I attended the Gemological Institute of America and earned my Graduate Jeweler diploma to fine tune my jewelry skills. I am currently working to finish the Graduate Gemologist diploma as well.

I opened my first store in Tennessee in 2008, but life soon took a turn leaving me to set aside my work and love of jewelry making. For many years, I focused on my family and raising my young children- dreaming of the day I could again take up my torch.

That day finally came in 2023, and I am beyond excited to introduce you to my new adventure, Alexis Ann Jewelry.  Which, if you’re reading this- you found it!

I learned at an early age that jewelry has the transformative power to lift my mood, my confidence, my whole day. Growing up in a small town in Indiana, I often felt the pressure to minimize myself and to blend in. Wearing my own jewelry was my way of feeling unique and true to myself. After all, no one else had what I could make. I would make just the right thing to accessorize every outfit, and barely a day went by without me wearing at least one special piece. That gave me the confidence that my painfully shy self desperately needed to face the day.  

That confidence is how I want you to feel when you wear my jewelry. I want you to know that I took extra care making it just for you, because you are beautiful, and special, and deserve to shine bright.

At Alexis Ann, I specialize in limited edition collections using natural gemstones and recycled metals, often inspired by nature, with a minimalist aesthetic.  Alexis Ann Jewelry is meant to empower and inspire the wearer. 

I have always been drawn to spending quiet time in nature to recenter and find balance in my life. The shapes of leaves, twisting vines, even puffy clouds often become my next subject when designing jewelry.

Because of my love of nature, sustainability and the ethical sourcing of my materials is a high priority. My metals are sourced from suppliers that are certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC)- meaning they are also dedicated to maintaining high sustainability, and using recycled metals. Within my own workshop, I collect all scraps down to the metal dust that come off of tools and used sandpaper. These scraps are either sent to a refiner, or remelted by me into new jewelry. 

Unless requested, I use natural gemstones in my jewelry. I work hard to source from ethical suppliers. Fine gemstones go through the Kimberley Process to ensure that they are not from areas of conflict, or mined using abusive practices. Our world, and the people in it, is a precious resource to be protected and cherished.
